Please welcome the newest member of our staff - October 2011

The Piatchek Law Firm located in Springfield would like to announce the addition of their new Associate Attorney, Kara L. Breshears on October 10th.  Ms. Breshears focuses on cooperative, uncontested family law and traffic matters.  Ms. Breshears earned her Juris Doctorate in 2011 from University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Missouri State University – Springfield.  She is licensed to practice law in Missouri.

New Websites - January 2011

The Piatchek Law firm is proud to announce the launch of TWO new websites!

AFFORDABLE LEGAL SERVICES, a Division of The Piatchek Law Firm, has launched a new website located at www.AffordableLegalServicesLLC.com. This website is functional, but still under construction, and contains information AND VIDEOS about our firm, Uncontested Divorce, and LLC's. We will be adding more content and videos periodically.

We are also proud to announce the launch of a new website designed to assist you in forming your own Limited Liability Company (LLC). This will be the same service we offer in our offices, and done personally by Joe Piatchek and his staff, but will be done at a lower cost, becuase you are forming the LLC online and don't require office time. This website is currently under construction and will be located at www.ShowMeLLC.com. The anticipated opening date for ShowMeLLC.com is end of 2011.

Speaking Engagements

Joseph J. Piatchek will be part of an upcoming series of panel presentations entitled "Business Killers", regarding the topic of succession planning, buy-sell arrangements, and key-employee planning. The presentations are geared towards local business owners whom are interested in protecting their business should unexpected events occur. These presentation will be held at Highland Springs Country Club at a time to be later determined.

March 2011 -

Joseph J. Piatchek will be a speaker and Panelist at Blueprints for Success Executive Lunch Series on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at Highland Springs County Club from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Mr. Piatchek will be speaking on the topic of the recent changes to estate and tax laws on Estate Planning. Joe Tucker, CPA from Tucker & Company, P.C. will be presenting on the 2011 New Tax Laws. John Piatchek of Piatchek & Associates will be hosting the event, and speaking on the Tax Aspects of Gifting.

October 2010 -

Joseph J. Piatchek gave a speech at the Missouri State University chapter of Phi Alpha Delta, the pre-law fraternity, on October 20, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in Strong Hall, Room 301. Mr. Piatchek spoke about why he went to law school, preparing for law school, and his experiences while he was there, and followed up with some tips for aspiring law students. Attorney Joe Easter presented also, and both attorneys concluded by fielding questions from the students.

August 2010 -

Joseph J. Piatchek presented to two groups in Springfield, MO on August 20, 2010. Mr. Piatchek spoke in front of the Benefits Consultants group hosted by Tim Piatchek on the topic of insurance planning, mortgage protection, and attorney-agent referrals. Mr. Piatchek also spoke at Keller-Williams realty agency on the topic of starting your own business and business entities, in front of a group of realtors, hosted by realtor Dan Holt.

Springfield Business Works, a Business and Networking Referral Group - August 2010

Springfield Business Works is a Non-Profit Corporation comprised of business owners dedicated to serving the business community of Springfield and greater Southwestern Missouri. Members of the organization meet weekly to hear speakers on various business topics, to discuss business matters with fellow business owners, to engage in the referral and networking, and to improve their own businesses as well as improve the businesses of other members. The membership of Springfield Business Works is limited to only one member per occupation or business field, thus creating an atmosphere for referrals among member businesses as well as their customers or clients. Springfield Business Works meets every Wednesday at 7:45 a.m. at 425 West Walnut in Springfield. Visitors are welcome. The Piatchek Law Firm, LLC is Hiring! - August 2010

The Piatchek Law Firm, LLC is currently interviewing applicants for the position of part time legal assistant / legal intern. We have paid positions, as well as unpaid internship positions for any aspiring law students / businesspeople looking for experience. Students interested in attending law school someday, whom would like to gain experience working in a law firm are strongly encouraged to apply. Responsibilities will include answering phones, scheduling appointments, filing, writing letters, data entry, and potentially drafting some basic legal documents.
