Cooperative Family Law in Missouri
Handling Cooperative, Uncontested Cases
At The Piatchek Law Firm, LLC, we handle family law concerns that are totally cooperative and uncontested. If you and your spouse are in total, 100% agreement (or very close) on all aspects of your case, including property, finances, children and custody, we can help.
If the case is agreeable, why do you need an attorney? You still need an attorney to make sure that everything is done correctly, property, debts, and assets are divided correctly, and that custody and support issues are done correctly. Even if you have no children or property, you can have problems if the forms are not submitted correctly. Additionally, in many counties, if you hire an attorney, we can do the entire case without anyone having to appear in Court. If you attempt to handle your own case, besides the fact you may make mistakes that actually cost you more time and money, you will additionally be required to appear in Court.
Our services are not for everyone, and we don't take every case. We typically take cases where the parties are civil, agreeable, and want to save time and money. The parties don't want to spend years and several thousand dollars each, both hiring an attorney to fight about it by the hour. They simply want an attorney prepare all of the documents as agreed upon by both parties, and make the process go as quickly, affordably, and smoothly as possible. They want this to be done at one, simple flat rate, rather than by the hour. They don't want to fight and drag it out; they don't want to make it hard on themselves or the children. These are the kind of cases where we can be of great assistance and provide great value.
We are committed to seeing that our clients' issues are resolved to the very best of our ability, with minimal disagreement or delays. Whenever your life is at a crossroads, or there is a major change in your situation, we can help you and your family with cases that are cooperative, agreeable, and uncontested. This includes such cases as a cooperative, uncontested divorce, or an agreeable modification to child custody and support. This may even extend outside of just family law, to include families whom have just lost a loved one, and simply need guidance and advice about what to do next. We handle uncontested, cooperative cases of all kinds, including family law, property law, business, real estate, probate, and comprehensive services related to assets and property.

Cooperative Family Law
We encourage our family law clients to work through their issues cooperatively with the other parties, when possible. Of course, this is not always possible, and uncontested divorces are not for everyone. If it is possible for you and your spouse, cooperating can minimize the stress and toll taken on everyone involved, including children. Even if both parties agree that a collaborative divorce is in their best interests, please note that our firm can only represent one party, not both, in the proceedings. However, because we don't typically handle contested matters, and only handle agreeable divorce cases, you can rest assured that we have nothing to gain from seeing the parties fight or enter into a long legal battle. We strive to help clients with all types of cooperative, uncontested family law issues, including:
Cooperative, Uncontested divorce
Mediation
Prenuptial agreements
Child support and child custody
Spousal support
Property division
Uncontested modification
