Meredith Denton, Firm Communications Manager:

I am a native of Southeast Missouri, and have been working with Piatchek Law Firm for about three (3) years.  I originally moved to Springfield to attend Missouri State University, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree with an emphasis in Marketing.  I am currently pursuing a Masters of Business of Administration (MBA) degree.  When I’m not working or studying, I like to spend time with my family, friends, and my terrier mix named Maggie. 

Kara L. Breshears, Associate Attorney:

I am a native of Southwest Missouri, and earned my Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture from Missouri State University.  I recently earned my Juris Doctorate from University of Missouri-Kansas City, and passed  the Missouri Bar Exam.  While attending law school, I was a member of the Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity and the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, where I was treasurer.  Also, I was a team member of the Appellate Advocacy Team and the Student Division of the American Bar Association.  I also gained valuable experience in the business law arena as a clerk at the Entrepreneurial Law and Practice Clinic in Kansas City, MO which assists individuals with setting up small businesses.  I also have experience in health care law through internships with Cox Hospital in Springfield and St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City.  I also clerked at two law firms both during and before law school.

I am currently a licensed member of the Missouri Bar Association, and will be heading up the Affordable Legal Services Division of Piatchek Law Firm, dealing in such matters as Uncontested Divorce, Traffic Law, as well as other areas. 

Michele Peters, Legal Assistant:

I am originally from Kansas City and have recently moved to the Springfield area.  I have previously worked in early childhood and higher education.  I am married and have three children who keep me very busy.  In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my husband, shopping for antiques and watching the Kansas City Chiefs. 

Lela White, Paralegal:

I was born in Elkland, Missouri and attended Buffalo High School.  While growing up, I discovered a passion for the law, and thus pursued a career in the legal field.  I received my Paralegal degree, and graduated with honors, from Vatterott College.  Over the years, I’ve had plenty of opportunities to work with the public in different customer relations positions.  I continue to utilize these skills, in addition to my legal research and writing skills, at Piatchek Law Firm.  I look forward to watching my career grow, and to continue helping clients to the best of my ability.  In my spare time I enjoy reading, bowling, and cooking.
